Oct. 4 - Prompted: First Wednesday spoken word nights at Big Car Gallery in Fountain Square
7:30 p.m.
Free each month

This week's prompt: Bring a poem about a scary object and bring the object.

Each month, writers in attendance (and those checking the website) will find out what the prompt -- a theme or exercise -- is for the next reading. In the interim, the writers can complete the new work and then the next reading will start with everybody reading the work they produced from that prompt.

This is a collaboration of Big Car, the University of Indianapolis and the Writers' Center of Indiana.

Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m. - at Big Car Fountain Square: Screening of "Last Best Chance."

Q: How do I get to Big Car Gallery?
A: Go to the corner of Woodlawn and Virginia Ave. in Fountain Square just southeast of Downtown. Turn right on Woodlawn (at Skip's Market) and left on St. Patrick's. Park behind the Murphy Art Center and enter through the glass back door with the Big Car sign. Or park along Virginia Ave. and walk around to the back of the building and enter. It is also OK to pass through Galerie Penumbra (be sure to stop and check it out) and then access Big Car from the back hallway. The gallery is upstairs in Suite 215.

Here are maps of the area: map one map 2

Big Car North (Big Car N) is located at the Invoke Studio at 970 Fort Wayne Ave. near the Mass Ave. area of Downtown.
