Beyond our work as a gallery and spot for multi-genre arts and cultural enrichment, Big Car is working to mobilize local creative people to use their talents in support of other arts and non-profit organizations with their public relations.
Simply put, Big Car is a non-profit here to help non profits by providing much-needed public relations and documentation assistance at prices that even the tiniest organization can afford.
Big Car has page designers, copywriters, photographers, web specialists and other creative talents on call, ready to work with the organizations that need their help. And Big Car can provide overall management of projects, finding the best talents for each need.

Our biggest client, so far, has been Masterpiece in a Day in Fountain Square. In September of 2005, Big Car handled all public and media relations aspects of this signature event for the neighborhood and the arts scene in the city. The event was a solid success. Big Car designed new logos, print ads, flyers and posters, handled printing and distribution of flyers, handled a website for postings and online publicity; wrote press releases and worked with local media -- landing a cover story in NUVO and stories in the Indianapolis Star and Indy Men's Magazine, among others; wrote copy for radio advertising, including a 60 second commercial on WTTS; handled all media advertising buys; and then covered documentation of the event.
Many of Big Car's workers also volunteered to help with event management, organizing musical entertainment during the day, a new art fair, and the art, music and writing contests that are the event's trademark.
Paul Baumgarten of Southeast Neighborhood Development, the non-profit community development organization that hired Big Car for Masterpiece in a Day, would be happy to talk about our efforts. He can be reached at 317-634-5079, ext. 22 or at paulb@sendsdc.org.

In May of 2005, Big Car handled publicity for the Beckmann Theatre's play, Asylum at the former Central State mental hospital. This involved creating an identity and logo for the company, shooting publicity photos, writing and distributing press releases, answering media calls and setting up interviews with local print and television outlets and building a website (logos can be viewed there):
We are currenlty handling Beckmann's PR for its new production Give the Dog a Bone. Here is some of the artwork for that show:
Another group we have worked hard to promote is our own. Big Car Gallery has received a great deal of media attention in its first year, landing stories in InTake, NUVO, the Indianapolis Star and Indy Men's Magazine. We have been featured in a story on the WISHTV morning news with Dick Wolfsie and on Channel 8's website.
Big Car designs its own flyers for each gallery show. Here are some examples:
