Hoosier Asian American Power Celebration

Join us as we celebrate the power of Asian American Hoosiers and their work to build a more just and equitable Indiana.

The event will take place at the Tube Factory, 1125 Cruft St., in Indianapolis on Wednesday, May 29, 5-7 p.m. and will feature a lively panel discussion with three community leaders who will explore Asian American perspectives on three issues: voting rights and civic engagement, racial equity, and gender and reproductive justice.

  • Ellen Wu, Associate Professor of History and Asian American Studies at Indiana University – Bloomington and member of the Indiana Advisory Committee for the United States Commission on Civil Rights
  • Ami Gandhi, Director of Strategic Initiatives and Midwest Voting Rights Programs, Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights
  • Maria Douglas, Commissioner, Monroe County Women’s Commission
