The Long Blue Line: Discussion with Artist Sean Derry
September 15, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
FreePogue’s Run Waterway once flowed through the heart of Indianapolis and was a prominent visual landmark in the communities through which it meandered. It has since vanished from our landscape into aqueducts beneath the city.
In his project “Charting Pogue’s Run,” artist Sean Derry set out to memorialize our native waterway with a long, blue line and iron markers mapping the stream’s 1831 path. Join us at Flat 12 Bierworks for a casual presentation and discussion with Derry, who will share his perspective of Pogue’s Run and the experience of completing a massive installation.
Flat 12 Bierwerks is located on the banks of Pogues Run waterway. Admission is free, with food and drinks available for purchase.
This event is part of the White River Festival and is presented by Big Car and Reconnecting to Our Waterways.
You are invited to join us the following day for The Pogue’s Run Pursuit as we hike the historical route of Pogue’s Run.
