We were thrilled to participate in the 2013 CEOs for Cities Annual Conference, held in Grand Rapids MI, in two capacities: activity design, and also as award recipients.
First the award: our executive director Jim Walker received a City Changemaker award, and made a short speech about Big Car. He was in good company: other awardees included mayors from Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Memphis; a university president from Florida, and an economic development leader from Detroit.
Our participation in the conference also included the creation of a card deck of relevant content that was distributed to everyone in attendance, and used to engage attendees in brainstorming and art-making activities. The deck included provocations from Fluxus, questions designed to spark conversations, as well as curated bits of wisdom. See the full deck here.
