In Big Car’s first location for Listen Hear, a sound-art space, artists found inspiration and made sound work related to Big Car’s then new neighbors in the Lafayette Square area strip mall which included a variety of beauty shops, churches, and stores.

During the opening night of the exhibition there were several performances by John McCormick, Anne Laker, Ben Bennett (Ohio), and a special musical experience by inner city cosmetology. Participating artists included: Niina Cochran, Christopher Dance, Andy Fry, Theon Jones, Anne Laker, Brent Lehker, Eduardo Luna, John McCormick, Ian Oehler, Aryn Schounce, Holly Sommers, and Jim Walker.
